Nenad Prokopiev (b. 1987) is a professional music theorist, pedagogue and minimalist. At the age of 7 he entered the national school of music Ilija Nikolovski – Luj in Skopje for classical piano training but by his middle teens he had grown increasingly interested in music theory, composition and music technology. Against the counsel of his family and tutors, he turned away from classical piano to explore new things  in different fields in music. In his active years as a solo and chamber pianist he performed on many concerts and won prizes in national competitions: First prize at the state piano competition (1996), First prize at the XXXVII state competition: ensemble: duo violin-piano (1999), Third prize at the XXXIX state piano competition (2001), first prize at the XL state competition: discipline: nonclassical ensembles - trio (2002) and commendation at the XLII national piano competition (2004).

He is grandson of macedonian composer Trajko Prokopiev.
